A growing number of studies indicate that this product is beneficial for a host of debilitating diseases and conditions, from burns, cancer, cholesterol and pain.

Packed with numerous phytochemicals and nutrients that have a powerful healing capacity, aloe vera may truly be nature’s best gift. When the gel from the stalks of this desert succulent is extricated, it can be added to food or liquids and taken internally where its effects may be truly astounding.

Aloe Vera's Many Uses

Most people are familiar with using aloe vera gel on burns, but treating burns (nasty sunburns included) is only one of aloe vera’s amazing abilities.

This miraculous gel, filleted from the aloe vera’s arms, is reputed to boost immune function, destroy cancer tumors, halt inflammation and stabilize blood sugar. It is also said to lower cholesterol, relieve joint pain, and help cure ulcers.

Aloe Vera as a Digestive Aid

Aloe vera is highly beneficial in treating numerous ailments in the digestive tract, from acid indigestion and reflux to constipation, IBS and basically all colon problems.

Two ounces of the juice taken once daily, mixed with water or a small amount of fruit juice, is enough to calm acidic stomachs and regulate many digestive disorders which seem to be the plague of modern living. Aloe vera juice will relieve constipation symptoms and regulate this problem of the digestive tract.

Aloe Vera and Cancer Treatment

Cancer patients often find relief from radiation burns by using aloe vera gel topically. There is also growing evidence that aloe vera can also slow the growth of cancerous tumors. It is said to help people with skin cancer, varicose veins and can be used in the treatment of AIDS.

The list goes on: it is reputed to prevent kidney stones, reduce high blood pressure and alkalize the body due to acidic eating habits. Gum disease can be treated by using aloe vera in powder form.

Aloe Vera as First Aid

Interestingly, aloe vera can replace many items in the first aid kit. Rubbing aloe vera gel on irritating mosquito bites gives relief from that annoying itching and swelling that some people experience when bitten by these pests. Using aloe vera on spider bites reduces the size and redness of the bite. Aloe vera can be put on cuts, scratches and abrasions and seems to promote rapid healing.

Aloe vera gel is an excellent tonic for the skin and can be used directly on the face and hands. With continued use, it leaves skin smoother and softer.

Use Only Natural Aloe Vera

Unfortunately, most forms of aloe vera that are commercially available are adulterated to some degree due to the product having been heated and having various other ingredients added, often rendering the aloe vera extremely weak and ineffective.

Not everyone will be willing or able to slice off and prepare their own stalk of aloe every day, so it’s important to find a reputable brand if one is going to buy the juice or gel.
